AusarHerbs sold "Corona Destroyer Tea" through its website with claims that it could prevent, treat, and cure COVID-19, violating section 505(a) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by marketing an unapproved new drug. The product was also misbranded under section 502 of the FD&C Act. The FDA took action during the declared national emergency for COVID-19 to protect consumers from unauthorized products making therapeutic claims about the disease.
