rx2go.com was found selling unapproved new drugs and misbranded drug products over the internet that claimed to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure COVID-19, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and malaria, in violation of sections 505(a) and 502 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. These products lacked FDA approval or authorization and did not carry the same safety and effectiveness assurances as FDA-regulated drugs. The enforcement action was issued during the national emergency declaration for COVID-19, when the FDA was taking urgent measures to protect consumers from unauthorized products making disease claims.
