JR & Son World Trading LLC, an importer of food and beverages, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements for Guava Paste, Coconut Water with Pulp, and Frozen Yellow Pepper Dices imported from undisclosed foreign suppliers. During a remote inspection conducted October-November 2020, the FDA found the company did not perform the required risk-based verification activities to ensure these products met applicable U.S. food safety standards as mandated by 21 CFR part 1 subpart L. This violation represented a repeat finding, as similar FSVP deficiencies had been documented during a previous inspection in March 2018, and the company failed to respond to either Form FDA 483a observation report issued at the conclusion of both inspections despite stating willingness to undergo FSVP training.
