Mahi Frozen Foods, a seafood processing facility in Pakistan, was found to have serious violations of seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during a remote FDA assessment in April 2022. The company failed to conduct proper hazard analyses for its fish fillet products and did not maintain a compliant HACCP plan as required under 21 CFR Part 123, rendering its products adulterated and potentially injurious to health. Despite submitting a revised HACCP plan in response to initial FDA findings, the agency determined the company's corrective measures remained inadequate and continued to pose food safety concerns.
