El Salvador Products Inc, a food and beverage importer based in Texas, failed to comply with the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) regulation for imported foods. During a June 2022 inspection, the FDA found that the company had not developed, maintained, or followed any FSVP for its imported products, including salsa and queso chips, sweet bread, and pineapple pastry from foreign suppliers. The company also failed to respond to the Form FDA 483a observations issued at the conclusion of the inspection on June 8, 2022. These violations represented significant non-compliance with Section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the implementing FSVP regulations.
