Global Imports Inc. failed to establish and maintain a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) for imported food products including chopped spinach, cut cauliflower, cut corn, and diced yellow peaches, violating section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and 21 CFR part 1, subpart L. During inspections conducted in June-July 2021 and December 2021-January 2022, the FDA found no evidence that the company had developed any FSVP for its imported foods or implemented the risk-based verification activities required to ensure compliance with U.S. food safety standards. The company failed to respond to the FDA 483a observations issued on January 26, 2022, compounding the compliance deficiencies.
