Green City Distribution, a food importer based in Michigan, failed to establish Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) for any of the foods it imported from foreign suppliers, including broad beans, kidney beans, and coconut fudge, in violation of 21 CFR part 1 subpart L and section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The company had received three previous inspection notices (Form FDA 483a) documenting FSVP violations during inspections conducted in November 2018, June 2020, and March 2021, yet failed to implement corrective measures. Despite claiming in April 2021 that it would develop FSVP plans within seven months, the company remained non-compliant across its entire imported food portfolio at the time of the warning letter.
